Balance Changes and Fixes

  • Purification Crystals now properly purge Pawns' Provoke buff; previously, they were only removing the King's Attack and Defense buffs. Now it does all of them! Also, the last devlog had a typo - they're meant to be 2 gold a pop. This amount may get changed for balancing purposes down the line.
  • The Martyr buff has been changed to Frenzy. The queen's conditions for activating her buff skill have been adjusted slightly. Frenzy is a double edged sword of a buff, compared to Martyr simply being a re-flavoured Provoke. And before I forget, yes, it can be purged!
  • Arcana Slave has been fixed and will now properly tear the party a new one if you let the queen use it. Not that anyone's seen it go off before... I hope.
  • Soothing Chime has been nerfed. Just the value, just a bit. No, the pawns' speed hasn't changed. Sorry.
  • Alexander has been given two new skills; Counterslash, which at base deals about as much damage as Wide Swing, but deals more damage the more HP he's lost - and Zoning Manoeuvre, which deals damage and inflicts an ATK down debuff on the target . He was supposed to get these at the next chapter, but, uh... a kit feels barebones with 3 skills, especially when placed next to Snow's kit of 7. Like, was he balanced? Probably. Was he fun? I personally didn't think so.

Other:

  • A certain merchant dressed in pink has been added to the forest under certain conditions. She yaps a bit... but she'll help you out, though! And if you keep failing the puzzle (20 attempts at slotting a ruby in, to be precise), you can talk to her for a major hint.
  • Fixed an issue where placing a Golem Ruby in a certain place would render you unable to take it back out.
  • Better visual indicators for the puzzle has been added. I think they're better, at least. Like, they're not pretty, or to scale, but they're good indicators.
  • Added a small tutorial at the first battle that informs the player how Tactics skills work.
  • Also! Battle music has been updated! The credits list has been reflected to match. It's a custom commissioned piece, so it's very special ☆
